Last week we spent 4 days and 3 nights in Asheville. Asheville is one of our favorite weekend getaways since it’s only about 2 hours from Charlotte and Mike and I go often. This trip, we were joined by Mike’s mom and dad and his brother William. We had an awesome time and went to lots of great spots so I’m sharing a recap of our trip and some recommendations below!
We stayed in a loft on College Street this time – it was the PERFECT location for anyone interested in this property! We did not drive our car once at night because we could walk to all the restaurants and bars. Several of you asked for the link to the rental site on InstaStories, so here it is.

The first night we ate at Cúrate which is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Asheville and would top my list of all-time favorites anywhere, as well. As you can probably tell from the name, it’s Spanish so there are wonderful tapas as well as spanish wines.

The next day we headed over to see The Biltmore Estate. At 175,000 square feet, 34 bedrooms and 65 fireplaces, the Biltmore is the largest private house in the US. You can tour most of it!

The really stunning part of the Biltmore to me is the gardens – there are a few miles of manicured gardens and a huge greenhouse which are all so pretty!

There is also an extensive network of hiking trails on the property, which I wish we’d had more time for…

But we had to get to the breweries! Next up was Sierra Nevada which is located not far outside of Asheville and is worth the drive!

That night we went to dinner at Table which I’d also highly recommend!

The next day we did a family hike up to Craggy’s Pinnacle – everyone including Bishop, William’s dog!

After the hike we headed to lunch at Wicked Weed Brewing. Both Wicked Weed and Sierra Nevada have really good food, if you want to find beer and food in one spot!

The rooftop bar at the AC Marriott is a great spot to grab a drink for happy hour or after dinner.

For dinner Saturday night we hopped around to a few different spots – Blackbird and Rhubarb, both of which I would definitely recommend!

Sunday morning before we left we went by the Grove Park Inn, where Mike and I like to stay sometimes. We ate brunch outside at Sunset Terrace, which is one of my favorite things to do!

This is just a fraction of the places I’d recommend in Asheville, but I’m sure you’ll continue to see more posts from me on this location! 😀
For those of you who have been, where do you like to go and do there? I’d love to know!
Cheers!

I loved all your recs and pictures! We also love Curate, I have never tried a couple of the other spots and will have to put them on my list!
Isn’t the food there amazing? Glad you liked the post, thanks for reading!
Great post and a great trip!
Yes!!! 😘
Have you checked out New Belgium? The trip looks great, we love visiting Asheville also.
After seeing the pics, I now know what Mike will look like in a few years’ time — he and his dad look so much alike!
Awww! Yes I agree! Personality-wise he’s a little mini-me too! xo
Great recommendations! We also love En la Calle, Sovereign Remedies and Nightbell.
Jenn, We also really LOVE Sovereign Remedies and didn’t make it there this time. Never been to En la Calle and it looks very cool, so going on the list and I can’t wait to try it! I need to try Nightbell again too – just went there for a hot second last trip. Just noticed it’s same restaurant group owner as Cúrate? Thank you for the recs!
