The Sunday Seven 07.01.18

Happy Sunday! Here’s this week’s roundup in wine, food, style, design and travel.

Hello, friends…I hope you have all had a great week! Here’s this Sunday’s seven in wine, food, style, design and travel:

Seriously!? Two recent studies suggest that drinking wine before bed could help you lose weight. Reservatrol, which is found in the skins of grapes, is a group of compounds that acts like antioxidants in red wine. It can help transform stubborn white fat into burnable brown fat, and helps curb late-night appetite. If this were true, I’d definitely be skinnier, because drinking wine at night is one “healthy habit” that’s no problem for me to keep up with!

In this read you’ll find some updates on the lifelong debate: are male and female brains biologically different? The answer to the age-old question is still unclear—in some ways the brain is different, but in others it’s definitely a unisex organ.

Cindy Crawford posted a flashback on Instagram of her 90s workout video. In it she’s in full makeup, cutoff jean shorts, a white sports bra, and no shoes, which is hilarious…but the takeaway is that lunges, push-ups, crunches, and leg lifts are what has kept her in famously good shape. Apparently no yoga or spin classes are needed to look like a supermodel!

The summer months of outdoor entertaining are here! Having an indoor/outdoor space that gives you the best of both worlds is a delicious luxury (and IMO one that works really well in cities where it’s not quite as hot as the south!) But for a little eye candy today, here are 10 modern homes that perfectly flow between indoors and out.

Evidence of winemaking dates back 8,000 years, to Stone Age villages in the mountains south of Tbilisi, Georgia. Since then wine has had a rich history—some wines are great, some are not, and some, like that first one, are significant. From the first rosé champagne, Ruinart Rosé Champagne in 1764 (!), to Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1976, the wine that beat out all the French wines in a blind tasting in Paris to put Napa Valley on the map, here are 40 wines that changed the way we drink.

I totally used to do Cindy Crawford’s workout video! I might even still have it (on VHS).
