3 Easy 10-Minute Apps

With holiday parties galore around the corner, easy and pretty apps are in order! These are all festive looking enough for the holidays but also versatile enough to make all year. Below I’m sharing 3 of my favorite 10-minute apps!

Salami + Cucumber

• English Cucumber
• Salami (any kind)
• Thyme (or any fresh herbs you have)
• Sea Salt
• Freshly ground pepper
• Balsamic Glaze

I got this from my girl Ina years ago. It’s super easy to throw together in a pinch. A pretty plate, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, and whatever fresh herbs you have on hand dress it up! This is a great second dish to put out with cheese.

Veggies + Buttermilk Ranch Shooters

• Any veggies you have, but the key is to cut them into even pieces
• Buttermilk Ranch

Spoon a little bit of dressing into your shooter glasses. Skewer up your veggies. Also, I stood up some taller pieces of bell pepper and haricot verts in the back of these. That’s pretty much it!

You can definitely use store bought ranch — but here’s a simple recipe I like if you have a little bit more time.

Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 tbsp onion powder
• 1/2 tbsp dried parsley flakes
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/4 tsp Kosher salt
• 1/4 tsp celery salt
• 1/8 tsp pepper

Whisk all together.

Caprese Skewers

• Mozzarella balls
• Tortelleni – pre-cooked from the refrigerated section
• Cherry tomatoes
• Sun dried tomatoes – I get the kind in the bag, not packed in oil
• Fresh basil
• Sea Salt
• Freshly ground pepper
• Extra virgin olive oil

Cook the tortellini according to the package, which is usually just boiling it 2-3 minutes. Skewer all ingredients except the last three. Sprinkle on sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste, and drizzle with olive oil!
