See: Switzerland’s Winemakers Festival

The Swiss town of Vevey has kicked off the 12th FΓͺte des Vignerons, or Winemakers Festival, the latest installment in a centuries-old tradition of celebrating vineyard workersβ€”which nowadays takes place only once a generation. The celebration lasts a month!

CA Modernism: Open House

The gracefully simple Post + Beam houses by Buff, Straub + Hensman are instantly recognizable as part of the Post WWII Modernist boom in LA. This Pasadena property, is originally Calvin Straub’s own home and built in 1957, is a signature work of the period. Take a tour through the open house!

Coolest Secret Hotel Amenities

Rooftop guitar lessons at the Westin in Downtown Austin, a soap concierge at the Viceroy Riviera Maya, a luxury beekeeping experience at the Walforf-Astoria or a custom-tailored welcome gift at the Roxy New York. The coolest secret hotel amenities!

CNP + Climate Change

Climate change is forcing French winemakers to change how they blend Chateauneuf-du-Pape. 13 permitted red and white grape varieties are allowed in CNP, and some producers have been adding more white grapes into their red blends in an effort to curb increasing alcohol levels driven by warmer temperatures.

Countrywide Pizza Quest

Dream job alert: this guy went sampling pizza across the country from Detroit, to Old Forge, PA, to the Quad Cities of Illinois/Iowa. He’s sharing his “top 10” list as well as drool-worthy pictures at the link. I could eat pizza for breakfast today!

Hidden Airplane Button for Extra Room

On the underside of the outer most armrest of the aisle seat is a secret button.  To find it, slide your hand under the armrest, close to the hinge and feel for the button. Press it and you are now free to move that armrest up so it’s flush with the back of your seat, giving you just a tiny bit of extra room!

Hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing rest of the weekend!
