High-Speed Train in High Design

Very cool architecture, at work. Located in the heart of Tallinn, Estonia, this futuristic European transportation hub and high-speed train terminal will also function as an elevated public walkway above the capital city’s streets. Scheduled to open in 2026.

Top 100 Wines of 2019

Each year, Wine Spectator releases its Top 100 list, where editors select the most exciting wines from the thousands reviewed during the course of the year. These wines are a diverse group—ranging from emerging labels and regions to traditional estates exploring new directions. I always like to try a few of these bottles, but I also use this as a guide to producers and wines to look for in the new year.

Tariffs on European Wines

The Trump Administration is considering a 100% tariff on all European wines. As European vintners struggle to maintain sales in U.S. markets with a 25% tariff in place on many wines, they face a new potential hurdle. Until now, most of us weren’t feeling the impact of the 25% tariffs, as importers swallowed the cost in hope of maintaining sales. That won’t be possible with the new, higher tariffs – so if you’re a fan of European wines, keep an eye on this developing news.
