I love anything that teaches me more about wine, a I love anything that teaches me more about wine, and recently I got to spend the day working in my friend Clay’s vineyard which was such an incredibly cool experience. He recently purchased 17 acres in Waynesville and is working with a winemaker to plan and bottle his new project.🍷

He’s growing San Marco, Saperavi, Petit Manseng and Chardonel. We helped prune the vines, remove rotted grapes and hang bird netting. With some of the grapes nearing harvest, it was rewarding to see firsthand just how much care goes into every single one. 🍇

Last looks from Italy. Three day trips from our ba Last looks from Italy. Three day trips from our base in Taormina: Syracuse and Ortigia for their ancient history and waterfront charm, Savoca for its timeless Sicilian character, and Castelmola, sitting high above Taormina, for the most insane views of Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea (so much so that I had several fear-of-heights moments).

One minute we were standing inside the 75-foot-tall Ear of Dionysius cave, famous for its haunting echoes; the next we were walking through the real-life setting of The Godfather. That's Sicily. 🇮🇹❤️
