Happy Sunday! This week’s picks in wine, food, lifestyle, design and travel.

Explore Everything Eames
Like many others, I am a big fan of the mid-mod designs of Ray and Charles Eames. Their family safeguarded the Eames legacy by preserving the items from their office and workspace. Now, these form the basis of the collection that the new Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity makes accessible to everyone.

Make this Cake in One-Bowl and One-Step
This is my kind of cake. It reminds me of sunshine and citrus – perfect for spring. But the best part is you just stir everything in one bowl and bake. I am definitely thinking of trying this for Mother’s Day!

Next Time, Drink the House Wine!
House wines are making a comeback, and are more thoughtful than ever. To make a modern house wine, wine directors work directly with wineries to create cuvées that work well with the restaurant’s menu and cuisine. More about the process, and a few notable house wines to try.

Lust After This Modern Tahoe Getaway
Loving everything about this indoor-outdoor living space in Tahoe! The home is built around a central courtyard that’s partially covered by a cantilevered roof. There is such a strong, bold aesthetic overall, with many special touches throughout.

Remember This Hotel Sleeping Hack
This happens to me all the time! No matter how many times you adjust the curtains in a hotel, somehow a little bit of light peeks in. A viral hack helps: just take a hanger out of the hotel room closet – the pants hanger that comes with two clips at the end. Then, turn it on its side and use it to hold the curtains shut so you can get back to bed.

See the Price for Famed “Judgement of Paris” Wine
A single bottle of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars’ ‘SLV’ Cabernet Sauvignon 1973 – representing the Napa Valley red wine that beat top Bordeaux in the landmark 1976 Judgement of Paris tasting – fetched a whopping $12,300 in an auction.

Travel to the 22 Top Places in ’22
My travel calendar is full for the year, but there are so many good ideas on this list for everyone still looking to plan something. The recommendations are based on exciting reasons for architecture and design lovers to visit during the rest of 2022, from major museum openings to trends worth checking out.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing rest of the weekend!

Looks like the Eames Ranch is in Petaluma!! So close to us. I cannot figure out if they accept visitors, but if so, I want to surprise Chad with a day date there.
I believe they do! That would be a fun date idea…
