I am headed out soon on a trip to France! As my mind is on packing these days, I thought I’d share what I’m working with. Below are some of my favorite tried-and-true travel essentials.

Tumi Just In Case Tote
This is a favorite! It comes in a few colors. It’s a flat tote, about the width of a carry-on suitcase, and it folds up into a small flat pouch, roughly 5×7. So you can easily pack it in your suitcase, and if you end up buying a bunch of things, you can carry your new purchases home.

Monos Suitcase
I got the Monos suitcase for Christmas this year. It’s a chic design with nice features. I love the lighter colors, although if you are going to check it, I’d recommend a darker color that will hide dirt.

Truffle Clarity Pouch
I love the Truffle pouches (really, I love their whole site). I use these for my travel shampoo and other items under 3 oz. Cuter than a ziploc bag!

PurSteam Travel Garment Steamer
A great little steamer – if you need to take one with you, this one works well and is easy to pack.

Travel Laundry Bag
This folds up really small but expands to a large drawstring bag that you can use to bring home dirty clothes, or even anything that’s wet.

Tech Organizer
There are many tech organizers out there, but I like ones that will carry large items like this one does.

Cuyana Laptop Sleeve
I am obsessed with these leather sleeves from the accessories brand Cuyana. Such a gorgeous way to carry a laptop and keep it safe.

Contigo Travel Mug
If you like your hot liquids to remain hot, this is the best coffee mug, hands down. It’s sleek and works like a dream.

Carry on Duffle
For longer trips, I take this carry on duffle in addition to my checked bag. It’s comfortable to carry, fits a ton, and has good interior pockets for organization. It also serves as a great weekender bag if you need a way to travel lighter.

Universal Travel Adapter
An all in one world multi-function travel adapter that covers more than 150 countries. This also can charge up to 6 devices at once. It works well when your location abroad is short on outlets.

Kindle
The best way to read without the weight! The charge on this lasts a good long time, and you can adjust the dimmer to suit your lighting and environment.

Travel Hangers
These are really cool: do you ever travel and stay in a rental or at someone’s house that is lacking in hangers? These fold up really small so they are easy to pack and bring with you.

Card Case
An easy way to get to what you need when traveling without having to pull out a bulky wallet. I keep my license and 1-2 credit cards in here.

Leak Proof Silicone Bottles
I travel with my own shampoo that’s hard to get in travel sizes. I like the look of these neutral bottles and they work well.

Bon Voyage!

I love all of these recommendations!

I’d love to hear how your Cuyana tech case has held up! Have you had any issues with scuffing on the light leather?
Hi – I have not had any issues, surprisingly. The leather is pretty textured with a pebbled finish, so I think that helps some. I throw my tech case either in my large Cuyana tote or my carry on tote, and they have remained clean for a couple of years now with no issues. I have the black as well as the tan. Hope this helps!
