Healthy Hydration & Wellness Rituals

My feel-good drink list for ways to be healthy, happy and hydrated this year.

If you’re like me, the start of a new year is the perfect time for refreshing resolutions and drinking less alcohol, although I’m always working to stay hydrated and healthy in general. While I do my best to drink plenty of water, I’ll admit, it’s not always the easiest to drink plain water all day. I also love packing in supplements and vitamins, so I’ve found that drinks are a great way to get those in while staying hydrated — multi-tasking at its best!

Here’s a look at my latest routine, featuring some new favorite drinks that not only taste great but also pack in serious benefits, from boosting protein intake to supporting overall wellness. I kick off the day by rehydrating and loading up with the right types of supplements, and I’m also making an effort to keep things balanced with a few non-wine options to wind down in the evening. I certainly don’t do all of these everyday, but I do my best try to sip on something good for me throughout the day!

Morning Wellness Drinks

Ultima Electrolytes + Cymbiotika Vitamin C + Armra Colostrum

This hydration and immune-boosting combo is one I do everyday and is the first thing I drink when I wake up. Ultima replenishes electrolytes, vitamin C boosts immunity, and colostrum enhances gut and overall wellness. I linked to the Cherry Pomegranate electrolytes which is my favorite flavor from Ultima, but I also like the orange. I mix these three things in a cold bottle of water and shake it up, or pour it over ice.

Travel-readiness: These all come in small packets, so I take them with me when I travel.

Kroma Beauty Matcha Latte + Marine Collagen + Malk Almond Milk

Following my electrolyte cocktail above, I typically follow it with this matcha latte tea ritual in lieu of coffee. This matcha has collagen in it so it gives you protein right from the start — I typically add a bit more with about a half scoop of marine collagen, but the latte is good just on it’s own, too. This latte gives you energy and focus, enhances skin, hair, and nails, and supports your gut, joint, and bone health. In addition, this is just the creamiest most delicious start to the day — I truly crave it every morning!

Travel-readiness: Kroma does make travel packets for the matcha latte, but overall, I think mixing up hot drinks is harder on the go. I typically just grab coffee during travel.

Kion Aminos

Kion Aminos provide essential amino acids that support muscle recovery, endurance, and lean muscle growth. They also boost energy, improve mental clarity, and promote overall health by aiding in protein synthesis. If you are focused on building muscle, these are really helpful. You just put a scoop of this in your water and it tastes delicious. I linked to the mango, which is my favorite flavor, but they make other flavors, too. I typically sip on this pre- or post- morning workout.

Travel-readiness: They make a capsule version of these aminos, which are best for travel.

Anytime Wellness Drinks

Slate High Protein Milk Shakes

I drink these for the protein, and have found them to be the best tasting protein shake I’ve tried! Many protein shakes have a weird aftertaste and I don’t get that here. These have 20g of protein, 100 calories, and only 1g of both sugar and net carbs. I linked here to the vanilla latte version which is my favorite, but they also make a number of other flavors. Another favorite version of mine is this energy variety pack which tastes similar but contains caffeine — think of it as a high-protein iced coffee!

Travel-readiness: Not good for airline travel, but easy to throw in the car.

Athletic Greens

AG1 by Athletic Greens is a daily supplement made from a blend of 75 vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and whole-food sourced ingredients. You just put a scoop of it in your water, and it supports energy, digestion, immunity, and overall wellness. I was drinking AG1 every day for a while, but am more sporadic now. I do love the taste of this and will sip it at any point throughout the day.

Travel-readiness: I linked to the refill pouch size above but they also make travel packs. I definitely like taking these with me during travel as I typically am not getting all the vitamins and minerals I should be when away from home!

Nighttime Wellness Drinks

Club Soda + Splash of Flavored Balsamic Vinegar

At night for a non-alcoholic “cocktail”, I love a club soda with a really light splash of a flavored balsamic vinegar in it. My go-to flavors are Cranberry Pear White Balsamic or Cara Cara Orange Vanilla White Balsamic from my local olive oil shop, but any type is good! Garnish how you like…

Rishi Tea

After dinner I typically have a tea or a hot lemon water (more on that below). My go-to tea is Rishi Ginger Turmeric Tea which has a warm, earthy, and slightly spicy flavor profile with a kick from the ginger. It’s also caffeine-free.

Travel-readiness: These are travel-friendly!

Lemon Swirls

I love regular water with lemon, but this is a way to plus up hot or cold lemon water. These tablets are ready to drop in your water and contain organic lemon, ginger, organic turmeric and honey. Lemon adds vitamin C and antioxidants for a healthy glow, boosts immunity, and supports digestion and weight loss. It’s a simple way to enhance your daily routine!

Travel-readiness: The lemon swirl tablets need to stay frozen, so are not suitable for travel.

Let me know if you like any of these, or have any of your own wellness drinks to share.

Cheers!
