14 Carry-On Travel Essentials

Sharing some of my favorite travel gear for those taking trips – or just thinking about it!

This is a great time of year to travel! Since we traveled over the holidays, I’m waiting until later this spring for the next trip, but we typically travel in February and love getting away this time of year. Since I know many are taking trips (or just thinking about it!) I am sharing some of my favorite travel essentials below.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

These are a bit of an investment, but are just hands-down the best if you want to sleep on the plane or just drown out your neighbor! I love the silver color.

Anker Power+ Core Mini Charger

I have a couple of different chargers I take to-go because I am always draining my phone battery. I like this one because it’s so small and easy to throw in a bag to carry with you.

Dual Cable Charger

This is another favorite charger because of the double cables. I can charge my phone on one side and another device like a Kindle on the other…

Packing Cube Set

If you don’t yet use packing cubes, you should try them. They help keep sets of things together (think certain outfits, dirty clothes, etc) and are easy to move around to make packing, repacking, and finding what you need easier. They also minimize wrinkling and enable more to fit in your suitcase. The set below comes in some really fun colors – this blush, and also a marbellized pattern, as well as rose gold and other metallics.

Away Suitcase

I love my Away Suitcase and Nordstrom recently released this white color. Yes, I know it would get dirty but I love the look…although black is more practical!

Bric’s Folding Duffle Bag

This is a great lightweight carry on that you can take with you if you need an extra bag, folding flat for easy storage. I also like that it slips over extended luggage handles, allowing you to stack it on your luggage, as well as can be carried by the shoulder straps.

Burt’s Bees Face Wipes

This may seem like a small thing, but I never leave without wipes like these. They minimize the mess of carrying around a face wash, and are so easy to pull out on the plane or wherever you need them.

Weleda Skin Food

I don’t know about you all but my skin always gets super-dry when traveling. This is made with shea and cocoa seed butter, perfect for all-over hydration, and under 3 oz. I always take a couple of these with me.

All in One Adapter

Nothing fancy here, but this is the adapter I have and like. It’s designed for use in multiple countries, for all types of international travel.

Collapsible Water Bottle

This is a pretty handy thing to have on-the-go! It’s BPA-free, works for hot or cold drinks, and collapses down to a small size for easy travel.

Passport Cover

Your passport is, of course, the most important item to remember for an international trip! You should also bring along a passport photo and a color copy of the pages with your information on the off-chance you lose it abroad. This website has more information about what to do when your passport is lost or stolen. I always like to have a case to carry mine in – this one comes in lots of colors and patterns!

Makeup Bag

For a makeup bag, Le Sportsac is my go-to. This specific size works well for me – plenty of room, but also, it’s a soft bag, so it molds to fit in your suitcase. These are easy to clean and can take a beating from frequent travel. Plus, they don’t break the bank!

Kindle

One of my very favorite travel accessories – my trusty Kindle. I’m a fast reader and like to have several books on hand per trip!

Last but not least…the Selfie Stick!

Laugh as you may, the selfie stick is clutch when you want cute pictures and don’t want to ask people to take them! I admit it’s still embarassing to carry around, but if you have a big bag, you can keep it stealth πŸ™‚

Hope you all have a great week!

I’ve been using Weleda all winter and it’s amazing (and so cheap)! Oh, and I finally bought some packing cubes for our trip to CA next week. I’ll report back! xo
