Ski Getaway in the Alps

A feature on the Jagdhof Spa Hotel in Neustift, Austria – a classic luxury spa hotel that is as charmingly old-fashioned as it gets, from fondue feasts to toboggan rides. The Wilderer sauna alone has 20 different “bathing experiences” in Vitality World, the Jagdhof’s vast spa complex. A week of five-course meals, saunas and schnapps sounds like my kind of vacation.

Yosemite Firefall

Mother Nature showed off recently in Yosemite as she does almost each year in February. For a special few days, Horsetail Fall in Yosemite Valley appears to be on fire. This occurs from a confluence of events, including the perfect amount of snowfall in the area, along with a precise beam of light from the setting sun. What a rare and stunning display!

Cabinet Hardware Bling

I am obsessed with this modern kitchen in LA – stark white simple cabinetry set against a dark dramatic room, with bursts of color provided by contemporary artwork. And, each of the kitchen cabinet doors features not one but two simple, round wooden knobs. Who would have thought that two knobs would look better than one, but I love the resulting look with all the bling!

A 55-mile Run With Animals

Nine women participated in the first-ever Serengeti Girls Run in Tanzania. This is an all-women event that raised funds for women living on the edges of the wildlife-filled Serengeti, running amongst all the animals who roam there. The 55-mile run goes right through Tanzania’s lion-filled Serengeti. Girl power, indeed!
