Happy week, friends! I recently spent time in Napa and Sonoma, and it’s my dream to live there in some way one day. I love the peaceful feeling of the vineyards against the contrast of the modern architecture vibes you feel throughout the area. So, today I’m sharing some of my wine country home obsessions!
This first home has so many modern farmhouse architecture vibes. Located in the Napa Valley town of Calistoga, the home is situated on a property surrounded by vineyards and mountains. The residence consists of a main dwelling, a guesthouse, a pool house and more, and the views really flow through the calm spaces. The long, sheltered patio for dining and relaxing is my absolute favorite!
In Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley, an original 1970s ranch house was reimagined to include deeply cantilevered overhangs, linear wooden forms and views from every room. The home is characterized by a flow of indoor-outdoor experiences and perfectly framed views of the dramatic site it sits on. That gorgeous infinity pool creates a sense of reflection and extends the space, mirroring the beautiful blue skies of Sonoma.
In St. Helena in Napa Valley, a warm and welcoming 1,200-square-foot cabin sits at the end of a winding half-mile driveway that winds through a state park. The cabin combines century-old distressed pine with modern steel accents and concrete floors. It features vaulted ceilings, a double-tall fireplace, maximized light throughout and sweeping views beyond. I love the cozy farmhouse vibes and could curl up in this place for days!
This property overlooks the town of Sonoma and is created from minimal materials—concrete, shou sugi ban wood, glass and steel accents. The main living space is separated from two guesthouse “pods,” which are freestanding 350-square-foot rooms with their own entrances. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows everywhere fold open completely to allow for cross ventilation and an indoor-outdoor way of living. Love the private, yet open, vacation feel here!
Loving this house on a hill overlooking the village of Healdsburg in Sonoma. Four oversized glass panels open dramatically on each side, transforming the space into an outdoor pavilion where the concrete floors extend into a poolside patio to the north and into a terrace featuring a fire pit to the south. A true indoor-outdoor space for use year-round!
