Hello, friends…I hope you have all had a great week! Here’s this Sunday’s seven in wine, food, style, design and travel:
Opening in September 2018 on a 250-acre vineyard in the Maldonado region of Uruguay, the Sacromonte Landscape Hotel is a modern retreat for wine lovers. The property consists of a winery, a farm-to-table restaurant, and 13 small cabins. The structure has been built to disappear into the surrounding landscape, keeping the focus on the scenery. Each cabin has floor to ceiling windows and a private terrace overlooking the vineyards and landscape. Someone—please sign me up!
Appetizers are my favorite type of food, but I’ll admit to getting in a cheese board rut every once in a while. Just a reminder that sometimes the simplest appetizers can also be the most delicious—freshly pulled radishes, chilled vanilla butter, and crunchy salt.
I think you all know by now the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is my favorite sale of all time. It’s brand new fall merchandise, marked down 20-40% before the season even starts. They have been selling out of a lot this year so if you haven’t yet shopped I would hop to it. If you missed it, I shared my picks earlier this week in this post. And, these are Elle Magazine’s favorites from the sale.
Sidenote—The leopard jacket in Elle’s picks made me think of this and laugh. I love cats as much as (or probably more!) than the next person but this is ridiculous!
Casper’s new Dreamery recently opened in New York, providing refreshing nap sessions in a dreamlike space. You can book 45 minutes to recharge in a private, comfortable pod outfitted with their trademark mattress, pillows and sheets (that are changed every session). The nap session at the Dreamery can be booked through a number of different mediums, such ClassPass or MINDBODY, similar to how one would book a work out class. They even have lockers to store your personals and a spa-bathroom to refresh yourself post-nap. Love this revolutionary concept!
I thought we’d spend a little bit of time today dedicated to my favorite food! I loved this article on how to sequence cheeses to take your guests through an optimal tasting experience, much like you would do with wine! As well, here are some common mistakes people make when storing cheese, with simple fixes!
I think Frosé was one of those things everyone thought would pass, but then it didn’t, so people keep jumping on the moving train. This is Bon Appétit’s recipe for Frosé, and they mention to choose a full-flavored and dark colored rosé—the wine will lose flavor and color after freezing and blending, so this way you’ll achieve optimal end results.
I’m leaving you with Eater’s list of latest hot restaurants in NYC— do my NYC readers agree? Scrolling through this did indeed make me hungry…
Hope you all have an awesome and relaxing rest of your weekend! It’s my birthday, so I’m off to various eating activities all day and can’t wait for a mimosa! (But, going to squeeze in a clearly-needed workout first!)
