Virgin Island Travel is Back!

Everyone loves the Carribean – tropical white sand beaches, deep teal water, gorgeous beaches (with cocktails!), and easy to get to…But in the aftermath of 2017’s deadly hurricane season, the US Virgin Islands pretty much shut down. But now, everything is re-emerging newer, better, and strongerThere’s still a lot of work to be done as only about half of the hotels are up and running, but almost every other sector (restaurants, shops, beaches) is back up to 100%. The islands are ready for visitors, and peak tourist season goes through March!

Wine Trends for 2019

The wine world in 2018 saw many crazy things – remember the bottle of 1945 Romanée-Conti becoming the most expensive wine ever sold, for $558,000, at an October auction?! These wine trends for 2019 predict the return of Bordeaux, the continued rise of natural wines as well as more Pet-Nat coming on the scene, and question the future of the sommelier’s role. Lastly, could the story behind the wine overtake the tasting notes in convincing people to buy?

Does Red Wine Give You a Headache?

A lot of people comment to me that they get headaches from drinking wine, specifically red wine, and these headaches are rumored to be caused by sulfites. This article features experts in the fields of headache medicine and enology in search of strategies for avoiding the dreaded RWH (Red Wine Headache). Interesting fact – while a doctor interviewed has heard theories about sulfites in red wine, but he sees very few headache patients who are truly sulfite-allergic.

We’re in the Time of Instagrammable Penthouses

An Instagram-worthy penthouse apartment in SoHo complete with a millennial pink couch, faux sheep skin pillows and gold accents – everything is meticulously arranged, and the space is spotless. No one lives here, but this space was specifically designed to be the perfect background for Instagram photos! Many social media influencers living in New York have tiny apartments, so this was created for them to have access to an elaborate space for shooting content. It’s also a space for brands to capture content for their social media channels, launch new products, or host small influencer and media events to demonstrate new offerings.

Killer Malibu Compound Life

Malibu – the town along the coast 15 miles north of Santa Monica is hard to get to (especially with traffic) but the destination is worth it. This laid-back beach community caters to the surfing-obsessed, and it was the legendary waves that made the owners of this gorgeous home quickly fall in love with Malibu and decide to buy and renovate this house. Take a tour inside their low-key but luxurious finished property! (I want to move in!)

10 Interior Design Trends for 2019

More new trends for the new year! Innovators and rule-breakers are changing the shape of design, as are creators who take classic aesthetics and transform them for a contemporary audience. These trends reflect the developing direction of design – from more art deco, as shown here, to healthy spaces and hygee spaces. Cozy is where its at for me right now!
