Hello, friends…Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there! Here’s this Sunday’s seven in wine, food, style, design and travel:
It was a no-brainer to start with Wine Enthusiast’s 100 best wine restaurants of 2018. Who has been to some of these—let me know! From the list, I have been to Curaté in Asheville (NC), FIG in Charleston (SC) and The Lark in Santa Barbara (CA)…also, Jiko, the Cooking Place which is in DISNEYWORLD, y’all, and one of my top 3 restaurants there! (I have an odd amount of travel trips about Disneyworld because my husband lovesit there!) 😉 Intrigued by some of the others on this list!
Florence, Rome and Venice are all obvious travel destinations, which means they are full of hordes of people. But if you want to enjoy the scenery and la dolce vita without tourists, read this list of 21 lesser-known Italian towns worth a look. I’m considering Italy for a trip next year so if anyone has any other good recommendations, please let me know!
Interior designer Robert McKinley has designed NYC hot spots Sant Ambroeus, Tijuana Picnic, Gold Bar, Ruschmeyer’s and The Surf Lodge. Now he has added the freshly opened McKinley Bungalow, a curated residence in Montauk available for rent. In addition to being gorgeous, the entire house is shoppable—designed with bedding, furniture, appliances, and accessories from their studio’s favorite vendors like Cle Tile, Rejuvenation, Shinola, Floyd, and Hem, all available to purchase for those who want to bring a bit of their beach getaway home. More and rental info here.
I have to say I’ve not been the hugest fan of Target in the past. The collabs often don’t seem worth the hassle and the parking lot in my local store—don’t even get me started on that! But the launch of this home line got me. So sleek and minimal—just the kind of thing I am always in search of. Well-done, Target!
Beyoncé and Jay Z just dropped their first-ever joint album, Everything Is Love. They debuted a nine-track album, and also a new music video for “Apeshit.” In it, the couple and their cast of dancers take over the Louvre in Paris because, OF COURSE they can do that. In the Lourve, they posed before pieces like the Mona Lisa, Nike von Samothrake, and the Great Sphinx of Tanis. How they pulled this whole thing off—especially since there are some crazy shots outside of the Louvre against I.M. Pei’s famous pyramid—is pretty cool!
This article focuses on Trader Joe’s dinner hacks to help dinner along on a busy weeknight. I agree there is nothing better than coming home from a long day and realizing you have everything you need to make a simple, easy meal everyone in house will love!
Currently obsessed with the new location of Whole Foods that just opened near my house in Charlotte. I was driving about :15 to another previously, which I know isn’t that long, but it felt long! To make a good thing even better, Amazon rolled out Whole Foods discounts to Prime owners. If you are a Prime member select areas, you’ll will be able to take advantage of steep discounts at Whole Foods, which started on June 13 this past week! Amazon also has a handy map, which shows you the states where the Prime member deals are available. I tried this and it was super-easy—all you had to do was download the Whole Foods app and the cashier scans your phone at checkout. Lise I always say, Amazon is going to take over the world, and I’m ready for it!
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday! I’m off to brunch to drink wine with my Dad!

Great round up! Of the best wine restaurants, I have been to: Charter Oak (CA), Foreign Cinema (CA), Rustic Canyon (CA), and we just recently went to Valette (CA). All are awesome! Charter Oak was really cool. Valette is pretty amazing but not a great choice (food-wise) for vegetarians. I can’t wait to check out the lesser-known Italian towns article. I loved Cinque Terra. I was there years ago, but it was so awesome! A close friend just spent some time in Puglia and said it was magical. xx
Ok is Rustic Canyon in LA? I forgot about that one…I have heard good things about Valette, as well…Re: Puglia, I may want to talk to your friend! It’s been years since I’ve been in Italy as well – too long!!
Le Coucou in NY was amaze, it’s classic but lovely, a splurge place for a special occasion. And I know you definitely have been to Aureole in Vegas, because you recommended it to me!! Ha!
Hi Courtney – I remember sending that rec! The NV threw me off, I didn’t even think about Vegas being in Nevada 🙂 Ha! Hope you guys have had a great weekend…
I’ll take you to RN74 and Willows Inn when you come to visit! 🙂
That is a DEAL!
