Coffee Myth Busters

The darker the roast does NOT mean the stronger the coffee, and coffee also doesn’t cure a hangover?! (ok, fine, we admittedly knew that one). More interesting facts about coffee debunked at the link.

February Travel Inspo

February may not feel like the most intuitive time of the year to travel but I traveled in February last year and it was lovely! It’s a great time of year to go tropical, but there are lots of other places you can visit off-peak, as well. Ideas at the link!

Mix or Match To Avoid A Hangover?

A new study has found that no matter whether you mix beer and wine or exclusively drink one of the two, you’ll have the same bad hangover. The key is that if you drink in excess, you’re going to wake up not feeling so good. Too bad we can’t find a workaround here, haha.

You Know What’s Coming Up This Week…

I fully believe Valentine’s Day is an excuse to celebrate with a great bottle of wine, and this link suggests 25 wines that pair well for the holiday… The 2013 Jordan Cabernet mentioned here is high on my list, but I’ll share what I’m drinking for Valentine’s Day on Instagam this week!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing rest of your weekend!

Hi Bree – IMHO, pan fried bacon is the way to go. One variation however: I start with some peanut or avocado oil in the pan. This way, you don’t have to wait until the bacon fat renders to start the Maillard (browning) process. Also, heat contacts the entire piece of bacon from the start, cooking it more evenly. The process works even if you like it on the chewy side rather than crisp by removing it early.

Thanks for posting about bacon. This is an important subject.

By the way, maybe you should post about boutique tube amplifier manufacturers in the CLT area!

🙂 Thanks for the additional thoughts on bacon – I can tell you have a lot of experience in this area!!! (as well as on amplifiers, I know, but I can’t add much to that subject at least on my own!)
