Happy Sunday! 2023’s first picks in wine, food, lifestyle, design and travel.
A chill of the season has firmly claimed much of the country. Which means richer foods, and bigger red wines to pair with them. I recommend many on this list! The Faust, Schafer, Dauioush, and Clif Lede are some of my favorites.
This house is the coziest dream! Located in the French Alps, this was built from the ground up as a contemporary chalet and a welcoming environment for family and friends. The sweeping views of Mont Blanc from every room are to die for.
Anyone else obsessed with White Lotus? Shot on location in an absolutely gorgeous hotel in Sicily, it’s caused travel demand to the city to hit an all-time high. It was shot in Maui last year and had the same effect.
40 must-visit new properties opening across the globe, from beach retreats and country hideaways to city hubs. There were so many of these on the list that I was drooling over – especially the Hotel la Palma in Capri, Six Senses Rome, and nd the One&Only Aesthesis in Athens. Also loving the Auberge in Santa Barbara wine country, where we got married.
Château Lafite Rothschild: one of the world’s most famous and most expensive wine brands (think, thousands per bottle). Around since the 1855 classification in France, but just released their first new bottle in 100 years. With a suggested retail price of $99, the Anseillan label is intended to be more affordable at restaurants. I just bought some to try!
Some of you may be doing dry January—but for when you’re back at it, here are some amazing cocktail recipes to master. Food & Wine’s 15 most-read cocktail recipes of 2022 are rounded up here.
Ring in the New Year with greens, noodles, fish, and black-eyed peas. A handful of ideas for your first meal this year!
Hope 2023 is off to a great start for each of you!
